Songs like “We Are The Champions”, “We Will Rock You” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” made singer Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon becoming one of the most famous and successful bands in the world. Their first album “Queen” was published in 1973 and on the occasion of this jubilee the production company Maxi Media produced a four-hour documentary event in collaboration with Universal Music presented by the TV Channel VOX. Maxi Media met drummer Roger Taylor for an exclusive interview on his estate in England. He talks about their story of success and as well about the destinies of the specific band members. Naturally the documentary deals with the famous singer and frontman Freddie Mercury. Maxi Media met his former personal assistant Peter Freestone who tells anecdotes of his private life. Furthermore the Munich based Peter Ambacher, who was a friend of Freddie Mercury and celebrated parties with him in the Munich night life, shares his memories of the past times with the audience.

Queen spent their time in Munich for a while to record several songs in the Musicland Studio with Reinhold Mack. They created four albums (“The Game”, “Hot Space”, “The Works”, “A Kind Of Magic”) and had thus a breakthrough in the USA. Reinhold Mack was connected to Freddie Mercury not only occupationally, they were also privately chummy and Mercury became the godfather of his son called Freddie. Another view behind the curtains provides Peter Hince, a former roadie of Queen, who Maxi Media met in London. He participates in several shows of over 700 live performances, which fascinated Queen fans all over the world.

The successful band sold over 300 million CDs, had 14 number one albums and every single band member wrote at least one of altogether 18 number one hits. Moreover 58 music videos illustrate the incredible career. Helmut Fest, former president of EMI Electrola, describes in the interview with Maxi Media how the record labels experiences such a success and also Rudi Dolezal, video producer, describes the collaboration with Queen at the video shoots.
