Oliver Pocher – „I’m the Scatman“
He is a show host, entertainer and now a singer again: Oliver Pocher starts the new decade musically with the new edition of "I'm the Scatman". The idea for the song came to the 41-year-old on vacation in Florida. The matching video is a homage to one of the most dazzling decades - including a wink. "I'm the Scatman" by Oliver Pocher, available digitally on all channels from Friday, January 17, 2020.
Munich, January 17, 2020 - He's back - and how! Oliver Pocher covers what is perhaps the most famous song of the nineties. With "I'm the Scatman" the entertainer and showmaster celebrates his musical comeback. After his anthem "Schwarz und Weiß" for the German national team, he is now back in the recording studio with the new edition of the platinum-selling hit from "Scatman John" (1995). The music video (director: Sebastian Wehkamp) is nothing less than a homage to the most colorful decade in recent history - with Oliver Pocher in the leading role as "Los Del Rio", Freddie Mercury, Axl Rose, Kylie Minogue or Britney Spears and many more.
Oliver Pocher came up with the idea while on vacation in the USA with producer Jürgen Hohmann. The new edition was recorded on site in Florida by Tony Catania, who was also responsible for the original.
Oliver Pocher: "The nineties are on everyone's lips again. Be it with the 'Backstreet Boys' or with 90's parties - it was a light-hearted decade with super awesome music videos. A healthy mixture of trash and good humor. We tried to fit that into the music video: it's everything from Kylie Minogue, to Scooter, to Eminem. It was incredibly fun to shoot and I hope people at home have it too.”
Oliver Pocher - "I'm the Scatman" is a Fortunator/Maximedia production.
Oliver Pocher - "I'm the Scatman" will be released on January 17, 2020 by EL CARTEL MUSIC distributed by Kontor Records.
