With smash hits like “Hyper Hyper,” “Maria I like it loud,” and “How much is the fish,” Scooter has been shaking up the dance floors for 30 years. In their unprecedented career, Scooter have spent over 500 weeks in the single charts, over 300 weeks in the album charts and have received over 100 gold and platinum records all around the world. No other German band has managed to knock Madonna off of number 1 from top of the album charts in England. But how did it all start? In the documentary of the “Pop Giants” series the chapter “30 Years of Scooter” opens, and HP Baxxter takes us to the beginning of the Happy Hardcore Techno combo in an exclusive interview on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. In 1994, no one could imagine that Scooter would be around for long. “Hyper Hyper” wasn't convincing and credibil for the DJs and artists of the techno movement. But with every new top ten CD, every new gold and platinum award and with Scooter's unique international success, the critics were put to silence. Scooter is cult! We follow the band exclusively when playing sold-out gigs - even after three decades of existence. And we are going to experience Scooter recording for the new album. Furthermore, Hans Peter Geerdes (H.P. Baxxter's real name) takes us back to his childhood. He grew up in Leer, East Frisia, with his sister Britt and actually wanted to become a guitarist. Britt still remembers her big brother's first musical beginnings, which she was also part of. H.P. also provides rare information about his love life. In addition to sister Britt, the 135min. documentary also features companions and friends such as star chef Tim Mälzer, singer and songwriter Leony and Schlager legend Vicky Leandros. The current line-up of Scooter (Marc Blou and veteran Jay Frog) speak openly about their place in the second row behind frontman HP, but also about the fun that the whole project makes. With stunning live images, footage rarities from the band's beginnings and other interview guests such as Producer Alex Christensen, Manager and friend Jens Thele, Make-up Artist Juliane Polak, and Rapper Finch, we reveal most things H.P. and take a look on 30 years of band history. Ready, attack, Hard Core is back!
