This is the Sound of Germany – Our 50 Most Popular Evergreens

Vox presents "This is the Sound of Germany – Our 50 Most Popular Evergreens": 50 hits that have remained in the German charts for a very long time.

But a truly up-to-date ranking only emerges when the songs are re-evaluated. Therefore, the market research company Media-Control conducted a representative survey of more than a thousand women and men in Germany: Which evergreens do Germans still prefer to listen to?

In addition, the population in four German metropolitan regions in the north, east, south, and west was surveyed. And so, Germans decided on the 50 most popular evergreen hits of the past four decades.

These hits are something special. Some of them have managed to stay in the German charts not just for months, but even for years.

The ranking includes national stars like Die Toten Hosen, Peter Fox, and Silbermond. And, of course, plenty of international music stars: Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd.

The race for the top three is particularly exciting this time. And it ends with a surprise that even our experts didn't see coming.

Four celebrity couples offer charming and musically knowledgeable commentary on hits, artists, and, of course, their respective rankings:

Singers like Kim Fisher and Natalie Horler from Cascada, and Ben Blümel. Comedians Matze Knop and Tony Bauer also join the fun.

Also featured are Let's Dance judge Joachim Llambi and presenters Nina Moghaddam and Enie van de Meiklokjes.
