The “new pop music” makes its stars the idols of a whole generation. Many of the musicians become double-digit millionaires in a very short time. The biggest DJ hit in the German charts so far: Avicii's "Wake Me Up" (2013), which was the first single ever in Germany to be awarded a diamond record for over a million copies sold. DJ culture is now mainstream, but where did it actually start?

The four-hour documentary event “DJs – the new superstars” (on October 3 at 8:15 p.m. on VOX) sheds light on the worldwide development of the music trend. In many exclusive interviews, well-known DJs such as David Guetta, Felix Jaehn, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Robin Schulz, Steve Aoki or Axwell & Ingrosso give an insight into their industry and life at the turntables.
