For the ranking show, the market research company Media-Control conducted a representative survey of more than a thousand women and men in Germany: Which number 1 hits still top the charts today?

Additionally, we asked people in four metropolitan regions across Germany – in the North, East, South, and West. And Germany has spoken: Here are the 50 most popular number 1 hits!

The ranking: A spectacular journey through four decades of exciting music history, featuring national and international music legends. The results are absolutely surprising, as the top ten include several German productions.

Four popular celebrity pairs comment on the top 50 number 1 hits: Music icons such as rap legend Sabrina Setlur, Die Prinzen, or Höhner frontman Henning Krautmacher.

Also joining are "Bibi Blocksberg" actress Lina Larissa Strahl, influencer Aaron Troschke, TV host Jana Wosnitza, and music expert Nilz Bokelberg.
