Pop Giants - EM Party 2016

There are only a few days left until the start of the European Championship and the whole of Europe is in football fever. With the music documentary “Pop Giganten: EM-Party 2016”, RTL II celebrates the biggest football hits of all time – from the official stadium anthems to fan favorites and football stars' own musical excursions. In addition to well-known former players such as Thorsten Legat and David Odonkor, Daniela Katzenberger and Lucas Cordalis as well as sports presenter Katrin Müller-Hohenstein and singer Loona remember moving, entertaining and crazy songs from football history.

The European Football Championship 2016 is just around the corner and RTL II gets TV viewers in the mood for the football summer with “Pop Giganten: EM Party 2016”. This year, David Guetta will provide the official EM anthem with "This One's For You". At the 2014 World Cup, Andreas Bourani's "Ein Hoch auf uns" developed into an unofficial surprise hit in Germany, and "Dieser Weg" by Xavier Naidoo is inextricably linked to the "Summer Fairy Tale 2006". Football anthems like Shakira's "Waka Waka" and Bob Sinclair's "Love Generation" regularly become world hits. “We Are The Champions” by Queen, “Go West” by the Pet Shop Boys or “Days like this” by the Toten Hosen have become indispensable in the stadiums, even though they weren't originally composed as football songs. "Pop Giganten: EM Party 2016" also shows how the German national team sometimes grabs the microphone themselves and belts out hits like "Football is our life" or "Buenas Dias Argentina". And one or the other football star also tries his hand at music - for example Franz Beckenbauer with "No one can separate good friends" or Lothar Matthäus with "Must i denn". David Odonkor and Thorsten Legat remember crazy moments from their football careers. In addition, Daniela Katzenberger and Lucas Cordalis, Peer Kusmagk, Katrin Müller-Hohenstein, Loona, Henning Krautmacher from the Höhnern as well as Verena Kerth, Eko Fresh, Giovanni Zarrella and Thomas Stein comment on the biggest football and party hits.
